Finca El Dorado Green Gesha

Finca El Dorado is a meeting of two coffee worlds, the Elder family's deep roots in Colombian growing traditions, brought to the high elevations of Loja, Ecuador. Their Green Gesha program has already made noise at the Cup of Excellence, and this Lot 1 represents the farm at its most focused. Grown at 1,750 meters, processed with a double anaerobic fermentation, and dried on raised beds with obsessive care, this is a coffee built on intention from the ground up.

Finca El Dorado

Finca El Dorado took 4th place in the 2022 Cup of Excellence and 6th place in the 2023 Cup of Excellence. The Elder family and Bernard Uhe of CVM, an agricultural company led by generations of Colombian coffee growers, came together to cultivate specialty arabica at high elevation.

Processing

The wet process for this lot begins with harvesting only red ripe cherries, which are washed and floated to remove any defects. The cherries then ferment in bags for 48 hours, turned every 12 hours, before being depulped and fermented again in mucilage for another 48 hours using the same method. The seeds are then thoroughly washed in washing tanks to remove any remaining fruit material.
